Seattle International Comedy Competition

Applications are now open for the 2023 Seattle International Comedy Competition, where 32 comedians will be selected to battle it out for the top spot!

The Seattle International Comedy Competition launched in 1980, and is an annual comedy extravaganza. In this four-week long event, 32 selected comedians from across the globe perform in a series of rounds, beginning with a preliminary week. A panel of judges determine the result of each round until a winner is crowned.

A prize pool of at least $15,000 will be shared by the performers who advance through the Semi-Finals or beyond.  The winner will receive $5000 of that prize pool.

To apply, you’ll need to be a solo act over the age of 21. Send in a video of your comedy material along with a short comedy biography: the organisers stress that you’ll need to make a GREAT impression here, since competition is fierce from the offset!

The organisers haven’t specified a closing date, so we’d recommend you applying sooner rather than later to avoid disappointment!
