BlueCat Screenplay Competition
The BlueCat Screenplay Competition is back for 2024 and accepting entries! This international competition awards top new features, pilot and short scripts.
Please note that there is a fee to submit your screenplay to the competition.
The BlueCat Screenplay Competition boasts a huge prize pot, including the following:
- Winners introduced to over 400 literary magazines and agents
- Over $18,500 cash prizes for the top scripts
- International scripts (outside the USA) eligible for the Fellini Prize for Best International Script ($2000 prize)
Additionally, every screenplay submitted will receive written analysis, and the BlueCat team guarantee that every submitted screenplay will be read and evaluated from start to finish. Once you’ve received feedback, you can also revise and resubmit your work to the competition.
The competition is open to features (65-125 pages), pilots (20-75 pages) and shorts (1-29 pages). Applications are open to international entrants, and submitted scripts must be written in English.

At the time of writing, the first deadline for the BlueCat Screenplay Competition is approaching. That deadline is on 9th July 2023, so if you want to catch the submission window where fees are lowest, now is the time to submit your screenplay.
The final deadline is 10th December 2023.
