You will work with the narrative and design teams at Brightrock to write engaging comedic content inspired by the likes of Futurama and Rick and Morty. Joining an indie team means you will be involved in the creative process from top to bottom, seeing your vision through from page to gameplay!

Role Details:
- Initially a 6-month part-time freelance contract starting ASAP
- There will be periods of full-time volume of work available
- This role is a remote working position
Responsibilities:
- Work with our existing writer and design team to create fun comedic characters and mission stories within the universe already set out
- Write quirky dialogues and choice-based events, which efficiently develop the characters, advance the plot, and support the gameplay
- Assist with writing other in-game text and marketing materials
- Write to the game’s tone, target audience, genres and themes
- Review existing stories, dialogues and text to make clearer, tighter or funnier
- Ensure your creations work within the production budget of the game
Essential:
- A portfolio – Be it professional experience or personal projects showing your talent
- A love and understanding of writing witty, modern comedy for games, TV, or film
- Business-level spoken English, and strong English creative writing skills
- An eye for the little details that can set a piece of writing apart
- Strong remote worker ethic, time management and organisational skills
- A friendly and collaborative team player, at ease giving and receiving constructive feedback
- Must be able to work during our core operating hours (10AM – 4PM GMT+0) on most days
Desirable:
- Experience getting hands-on with game engine tech and design spreadsheets to implement narrative
- A passion for strategy and simulation games like Dungeon Keeper, RollerCoaster Tycoon and Theme Hospital
- 100m³ of Unobtainium
