The Female Pilot Club was set up as “a response to the stubbornly intractable problem of under-representation of female writers in TV comedy.” Since 2019, the club has staged events featuring read-throughs of scripts by female comedy writers.

This week they have an exciting new opportunity to have your pilot script read by established comedy performers:

‘Two brilliant pilot scripts will get a live reading at the JW3 centre in Hampstead by top-flight comedy performers. Previous shows have starred Tracy Ann Oberman, Jordan Stephens, Arabella Weir, Kiell Smith-Bynoe, and many more.

The club is looking for laugh out loud scripts with small (ish) casts and great dialogue. Any subject is fine, and characters can be of any nationality or ethnicity. We welcome scripts by writers from under-represented groups.’

So, if you identify as a woman writer, have a half hour TV sit-com which fits the bill and you’d like your script to get the FPC treatment, send your script here by January 28th.’
