ITV Studios Disabled Writers in Development
ITV Studios Disabled Writers in Development is a 12 month paid development opportunity for d/Deaf, disabled and neurodiverse individual writers. Applications are now open!
There will be four writers chosen to participate. During the 12 month development scheme, you’ll develop your own original idea with industry support, ending up with a treatment and pilot script. There is also £20,000 pay for the year. Successful writers will either be supported by Tall Story Pictures or Patrick Spence’s scripted Studio at ITV Studios.
At the end of the year, you’ll pitch your script directly to the ITV Drama Commissioning team, and will receive feedback.
To be considered for this opportunity you must:
- Be a d/Deaf, disabled or neurodiverse creator
- Demonstrate an understanding of character, story and structure
- Be able to write clearly and concisely
- Have at least one professional writing credit
To apply, you’ll need to submit a sample script of you own original work, for either television, film, theatre, radio or similar. You’ll also need to send a biography or CV. Applications must be by individual creators, rather than by writing teams.
The full details are over on ITV’s Careers website, which you can check out here. Get those applications in by Friday 9th September 2022.
