Soho Theatre Comedy Lab: Skills

This Summer, Soho Theatre are setting up in Chingford for a three-day comedy making masterclass, covering sketch comedy, stand up comedy, filmed comedy and more!

This masterclass is for young creatives aged 16-19, who are based in the London Borough of Waltham Forest. You can have any amount of experience to apply, so whether you’re just getting started or have lots of experience, check this one out!

The course will cover a variety of theatre and comedy skills and exercises including performing, improvisation, creating sketches, developing characters and creating stand up material. At the end of the project, participants will share the work they’ve created in front of a small invited audience.

The course fee is £25, but there are bursaries available for young people/families receiving income support, Job Seeker’s Allowance, or who would otherwise struggle to pay.
