The Pitch Film Fund is a funding and development opportunity with a prize pot of £60,000 for emerging filmmakers in comedy and drama.

Entry to this opportunity is free until the Early Bird Deadline on 26th June! Please note that there is a fee to submit your pitch after this date.

The Pitch offers funding and development in two categories: comedy and drama. You’ll need to pitch a short film based on a Bible story, verse or book. Think anything from Monty Python and the Holy Grail to The Last Temptation of Christ. The production funds offered (£60,000) will be split between the two categories.

The Pitch are keen to offer development opportunity to everyone who enters, so they offer feedback to everyone at their feedback sessions. Each stage of their selection process offers development masterclasses, and the finalists will receive residential training.

The fund is open to all individuals aged 18 or over, who are eligible to work in the UK. So just note that you’ll need to sort your own visas/travel etc if you would like to apply.

To apply, you’ll need to submit a two-minute video pitch of your short film. Ten finalists will be selected to pitch to industry experts at the live finals, which are to be held in Sheffield in January 2024.

The Pitch’s website is full of tips for applying, inspiration for your short film, and further resources. Head on over to their website to find out more!

The final deadline is on Monday 23rd September 2023.
