Vulpine Press Comedy Author
Hey, Funny Writer!
Have you written the next Three Men in a Boat, Bridget Jones’ Diary, or The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy?
How about Vladimir Putin: Life Coach, The Book of Bunny Suicides or Purple Ronnie’s Little Kama Sutra?
Independent publisher, Vulpine Press, are looking to discover exciting new comedy novels and humorous non-fiction books for publication. And they have partnered with The Comedy Crowd to offer this incredible opportunity to apply directly with your ideas!
Vulpine’s Commissioning Editor for Humour, (and fellow Comedy Crowder!) Troy Hewitt, says:
“The Humour genre is a somewhat overlooked and undernourished area in publishing nowadays, so we feel it is time for a bit of a shake-up. This opportunity is open to anyone in the Comedy Crowd community, regardless of whether you are represented by a literary agent or have previously had work published. Whether you are submitting a novel, a memoir or something completely random, we want bold and original ideas, which are well written and hilariously funny.”
What’s the opportunity?
Vulpine Press distributes internationally through all major retailers, including Barnes & Noble, Waterstones and many independent bookshops and online retailers. Could yours be next?
Phase 1 – Writers are invited to submit a short proposal which synopsises their book, alongside a brief explanation of what makes it different. Please note, we are also accepting submissions from writer-illustrators, provided they are in black and white. Please feel free to attach examples and links to your social media page, if relevant. Submission window open until 20/08/21 at 23.59 BST.
Phase 2 – Successful entrants will be asked to provide the first three chapters (or 10,000 words maximum) of their manuscript. In some cases, we may ask to see entire manuscripts, depending on the type of book submitted.
Phase 3 – Following a full read-through, selected authors will be contacted with a view of possible acquisition, editing and publication of their book via Vulpine Press.
