BBC New Comedy Awards

The BBC New Comedy Awards 2023 will be shining a spotlight on top new stand-up, sketch and musical comedians across the nation!

Shortlisted candidates will get the chance to perform at regional heats across the UK (to be televised on BBC Three and BBC One). One regional winner from each heat will then get to perform at the BBC New Comedy Awards Final (to be televised on BBC One).

The winner will receive the following:

£1,000
A paid commission to write and perform in a 30-minute audio pilot
Mentorship from a BBC Comedy Commissioner

To enter, you’ll need to select the correct age category according to your age on 9th July 2023 and add a few details about which region you are based in. Upload your video file (5 minutes of material). Make sure that the material you submit hasn’t previously been broadcast on television or radio, and that it is your own original work. Finally, add a bit about yourself and your comedy.
