This year’s free-to-enter Cheshire Prize for Literature is now accepting submissions!

The competition is open to anyone who lives/has lived, works/has worked, studies/has studied in Cheshire. This includes Wirral, Warrington and Halton. For all you scriptwriters and storytellers, this prize has four categories to choose from, and you can enter one work into two of these. The categories are as follows:

  • Scriptwriting (suitable for radio, theatre or TV; max 15 minute playscript)
  • Short stories (max 1500 words)
  • Poetry (max 100 lines)
  • Children’s Literature (aimed at 7-14 year olds; may be a story or poetry following the word limits above)

Winners over the age of 18 will receive a cash prize and be announced at the 2023 Awards Ceremony and across the promoters’ websites & social media accounts.
