Standup.tv – a paid online opp for comedians

A new app called ‘OOOOO’ is launching standup.tv a new platform when stand-ups can get paid a guaranteed fee of £200 for online gigs. They are looking for:

-Comedians with between 30-60 mins of material

-The stream can be split screen, and they’re very open to what the content could be, and the location in which it’s streamed. So it may be a WIP solo comedian, or it could be a live podcast type setup, two comedians workshopping jokes with each other, interviewing each other, character or sketch work… the more examples of how to make the platform work the better, really

-Musical comedians are also encouraged, they have a background with musicians from showcasing the busking platform so would in no way shy away from this.

-Ideally a 10pm set time, after a musician at 9pm, to be scheduled in with their programmer but essentially they’re looking to book Thurs/Fri/Sat at 10pm as the standard. Earlier times can be discussed.

-The shopping channel element of the stream won’t be incorporated, but they do have very seamless integration of this. So if a comedian wants to promote their book, audiobook, merch, artwork… all of this is workable and encouraged.

-They pay a guaranteed fee of £200 per performance. The music platform also has a ‘tip’ button, to incorporate the idea of ‘online busking’ so this is being trialled in the comedy one too, so comedians can be ‘tipped’ during the performance by viewers, and this will be added to their fee. The wording will likely change specific to comedy but the concept is the same.

-Comedians bring in their own audience, but they’ll also benefit from the apps in built audience. They regularly get a few thousand viewers on the music streams.
