Punkanary On-Demand is launching in early Summer 2019. This new online channel, dedicated to comedy,  revolutionises the way shows are made and discovered.

Punkanary is powered by the ‘crowd’ through an innovative two stage platform. It all starts with a community platform, in the style of ‘Kickstarter’ where anybody can post an idea or a show in development and then engage with fans, collaborate and even raise a shooting budget. Get enough fans and completed comedy shows will then be shown on the Punkanary On-Demand comedy channel.

Punkanary On Demand is open for early bird subscribers now. A limited number of people can bag a whole year of access for only £7 (regular price £12), and get to keep this reduced price for life! So why should you part with your hard earned £7, when it could be spent on a mochafrappelatte and a bran muffin? Here are the 5 shows we’re most excited about:

Super Unit

Super Unit is a the creation of BAFTA Rocliffe Award 2018 winners Noah & Jordan. An odd-ball group of humans with abnormal capabilities has been assembled, not to thwart the City’s evil villains or save the planet from time-travelling aliens, these unheroic supers must tackle the austerity regime from Bertie Jennings MP and rid the local council of Bumfield North of it’s crumbling services.

Also available on Punkanary On-Demand is Noah & Jordan’s award winning web-series – Wannabes.

Spokke

Scandi-noir move over and make room for the burgeoning West Country-Noir genre. Spokke is a comedy crime drama from Tim Grewcock and Shaun Lowthian, based on an award winning short. Two rival policemen from neighbouring constabularies investigate the theft of a bike with all the solemnity of a gruesome murder.

Pierre and Jean-Paul

Pierre and Jean-Paul are from Toulouse, but they were born in the wrong country, according to them. Despite their love for all things British (including Morris Dancing and Toad-in-the-Hole), they realise that they may no longer be able to indulge themselves so freely when political upheaval is on the horizon. The pilot episode of this show, by Michael Boccalini and Steve Hodgetts, was a winner of The Comedy Crowd Chorts competition in 2018.

Aussie Girls

Kelli and Tammi are two Australian girls living in the U.K. and in search of the English dream: binge drinking and promiscuity. But what happens when Kelli finds a lovely young Englishman who prefers clean country living and meaningful intimacy to late night lock ins and ‘no strings attached’ sex? Will he win Kelli over or will Tammi, her good time Antipodean partner-in-crime lure her back to the dark side? Check out a 2 minute teaser of this show (and the deliciously crude humour on display) by Shirley and Shirley (a.k.a. Joanna Carolan and Pascale Wilson).

Zipwaz Humphries

In a world of cockney eagles, cheese-dealers and etherial swingball, there lives one Zipwaz Humphries, created by Victor Hampson. The series follows Zipwaz’s attempts to live a pleasant life – a goal generally obstructed by his housemate’s acts of anarchy or by his own stupidity. Its a surreal and brilliant show packed with parody songs, unconvincing visual effects and even some jokes. Series one and two will be available on Punkanary On-Demand. Here’s a clip:
